Temporary residence permit is a document that gives to foreigner a right to reside on the territory of Ukraine for certain period. As a rule, temporary residence permit issued for one year. QUESTION:Can I get a permanent residence permit if I have no grounds?
ANSWER:Yes. There is such an opportunity. Some grounds can be created and it is absolutely legal, for example, to register a company and employed in it.
QUESTION:What is the minimum and maximum period for which a temporary residence permit can be issued?
ANSWER:The statutory period of validity of a residence permit is 1 year, there are exceptions to this rule, for example, a temporary residence permit can be issued for period of validity of work permit from 1 month to 3 years, or for a period of studying of a foreign citizen at an educational institution in Ukraine.
QUESTION:I have 10 days left. Can I apply for (extend) a temporary residence permit?
ANSWER:To apply for a residence permit, it is necessary that at least 15 working days, in fact 21 calendar days, remain until the end of the term of legal staying in Ukraine. It is also important to consider the presence of holidays in this period.
QUESTION:Is it necessary to draw up a temporary residence permit for children?
ANSWER:As a general rule, a residence permit for children under the age of 16 do not need. But if the child lives on the territory of Ukraine without documents, then in the future he may have problems, for example, with entering or graduating a school, submitting documents to the university. Therefore, a residence permit for a child in Ukraine is desirable to issue.
QUESTION:Can I work officially with a temporary residence permit in Ukraine?
ANSWER:By itself, a residence permit has nothing to do with the possibility of formal employment. A residence permit is a permit for living. For foreigners living in Ukraine with a temporary residence permit for official employment, you must obtain a work permit. Exceptions are provided for by Part 6, Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Employment”.
QUESTION:Is it possible to visit European countries under the visa-free regime with a temporary residence permit in Ukraine?
ANSWER:Not. The visa-free regime of entry applies only to citizens of Ukraine who have a biometric passport of a citizen of Ukraine.
QUESTION:Can I get a permanent residence permit if I have no grounds?
ANSWER:Yes, you can. The Law of Ukraine ” Of immigration” provides for 14 grounds for obtaining a permit for immigration, and only one of them can be created – an investment in the economy of Ukraine in the amount of at least $ 100 000. From the experience of our clients, it is worth adding that some grounds may appear during their stay in Ukraine on the basis of a temporary residence permit, for example, your child will be born in Ukraine, you will marry a citizen of Ukraine, etc.
QUESTION:For which period is a permanent residence permit issued?
ANSWER:Permanent residence permit is issued indefinitely. That is for the period of life. Every 10 years it needs to be exchanged for a new one. The exchange procedure is much simpler than the procedure of obtaining a new permanent residence permit and takes about 1 month.
QUESTION:Can I work officially with a permanent residence permit in Ukraine?

Having a permanent residence permit you will be considered a resident of Ukraine and you will not need a work permit for official registration to work, in contrast to the situation with a temporary residence permit, where a work permit is needed regardless of the ground of a temporary residence permit.

QUESTION:Can I get Ukrainian citizenship if I have a permanent residence permit?
ANSWER:Yes. To do this, it is necessary to continuously live on the territory of Ukraine with a permanent residence permit for the last 5 years, to speak Ukrainian on the level, which is sufficient to communicate, also to meet other requirements provided by law. It is also important to understand on which of the grounds you have a permanent residence permit, because for some categories of foreigners there is an opportunity to obtain citizenship under an accelerated procedure in 2-3 months, for example, if you have permanent residence on the basis of territorial origin.
QUESTION:Is it possible to visit European countries on a visa-free regime with a permanent residence permit in Ukraine?
ANSWER:This question is often asked by our customers, but unfortunately, the answer is no. A permanent residence permit is not related to the citizenship of Ukraine, respectively, a visa-free regime for foreigners with a residence permit in Ukraine does not apply.
QUESTION:How can I stay in Ukraine if I applied for a permanent residence permit, but have not received yet?
ANSWER:Foreigners cannot stay in Ukraine longer than the period stipulated by the visa or international treaties. The maximum period of stay, in such cases, is 90 days. If you have applied for an immigration permit and the period of your stay is expiring, you can extend your stay. In this case, the basis will be the fact of applying documents for permission to immigration.
